Trying to get more evil then ever before

After having lunch with my buddy Alex Funderburk, I felt more inspired to paint so much. I never paint unless being inspired to, or wanting to give someone a gift that I hope they treasure. I'll bang a painting out in one night for them. I have just been walking around thinking of rad shit. Just trying to think out of the box. David Choes show opens to the public tonight. He is a big inspiration of mine. After looking through a recent Juxtapose which is centered around him. I was just thinking about making my craft my own. I never really worked too hard at it. I really dont think I'm a good artist at all. I like my stuff because I think it's funny. It makes me laugh when people like it. This is a huge ramble on my part. Let's me start over.

I recently started to feel super inspired again to paint. In fact I deciced about a week about that I want to start wood working a little more. Nothing gnarly in the least. Just a scroll saw, some sand paper and acrylic paint. I want those to act as 3D demons and monsters of mine. I wonder if people will like them. Regardless, that has never been anything to stop me from making anything. So on I go. My goal is to have an art show ready in the next month or two. I want to have 25 pieces to hang. So hopefully I wont be lazy and will be able to live up to my goal. We'll see. Here we go. I will update drawings, paintings, woodworking, pictures, paper machet masks and so on.

PS I think its funny that I'm writting this. It's basically a letter to my head because no one ever reads this. haha. and I'm off.

Utah??

So I am now on this whirlwind LRG photoshoot. Which is so gnarly it's hard to even explain. Just how organized they are in comparison to the past company I worked for. As far as photoshoot wise that is. It is a bit odd though because I am on this thing really knowing only one person, Quang who invited me to be his assistant. So I find myself being a little more quiet about everything. Just keeping my mouth closed. Whatever. I've been awake since 530 this morning. Flew out here and am now going to bed. I am completely exhausted. Here are some photos that I've taken in my one day here. Maybe later I'll have more.

The weather while I'm here.

Driving to Park City looking out at this.

Sickest $300 dollar sweater I wish I owned.

Sick Pillows I saw out here.

The boots I'll be wearing for the next couple of days. Super heavy, but so warm and perfect. I'm testing them out tomorrow for real.

Rude Ralph

In my attempt to stay evil at all ways possible, I have been searching through the ends of the interweb for the most awesome, nay radical evil shit. I stumbled across rude ralph, which may be one of the raddest toys I've seen in a while. Everything about him. His messed up face, the fact that you can pull his eyeball out and just hold it and chill with it. I remember when these bad boys were out, the commercial for Rude Ralph blew my mind. Well now I'm  determined to find this epic evil gem, Ebay here I come. Once i win this dark, soon-to-be soldier of Gloom I will put up pictures of him raising hell. He will shred the undead to the point of no return. See you soon Rude Ralph........

Brain eating freaks

Here in Gloom headquarters (which are ideas that float around my head) has been a bit slow for a bit. But just recently it seems like the ball is starting to finally get rolling. Drawings are being tightened up. Shirt ideas are getting looked at. I would love to do a zombie series. Maybe there will be a series to be made one day. But I am finally hoping to get shirts made really soon. I have set a personal goal for Gloom and I hope to have it reached. I promise there will be more blog posts and more ideas being shown. So hopefully all 3 people that come and look at this little blog of death will enjoy it. Until then friends.

Alex Funderburks evil art show

So I haven't been showing gloom much love lately. A doodle here a doodle there, but nothing major. I haven't been going out too much either. I've been a bit of a home body as of lately. But when I heard about Co-worker/pal/evil genius Alex Funderburk was having an art show I knew I had to go support my good pal. Here are some pictures I took of his epic art show, without a doubt some of his best work to date. It's really good.

Here is Kelly Thacker, Alex asked her to paint something on the wall and she did with such expertise. This massive painting was done free hand, which is crazy cause its so massive. But it turned out great.

I congratulated Alex when I showed up with a 40 of Mickeys for all of the hard work he put into the art show.
The picture Alex did on the wall of epic glory.
The inside of the show. Every piece looked so good, I am so excited for this gentle giant.

Prints that he was selling at the show as well. I believe Alex is selling them on his website thesacredbeast.com

Some of the detail he put into the paintings.

The installation he did on one of the walls, I should have take a picture of someone next to it so you could see the true magnitude.
Then as I was walking around the gallery, which was massive, there was an antique shop in the back of the gallery with the most amazing things I have seen in a while.

Such as this amazing tiger rug that I need.

Future family portrait?

Can this be true?

Finally after walking around for a bit and eating the best veggie tacos ever, I snapped these photos of friends and called it a night.

Kelly Thacker at her best
Her husband Kyle who is also an evil delight to converse with
Kyle, Kelly and Toddland
Alex and Todd
The last chug of the Mickeys and I called it a night. Congratulations to Alex for the epic work. Go to his website thesacredbeast.com and kellys website letsdiefriends.com and buy and check out some more of their wonderful art.
